アメリカ人教育者によるラインセンスを受けた独立した私立インターナショナルスクールです。アメリカ式ベースにした幼稚園から12学年までの教育を行っています。新しく建設されたプライマリーキャンパスとセカンダリーキャンパスは、各クラスに最新の技術を備え、２つの図書館、設備の整った科学・コンピューター実験室、ダンス・演劇スタジオ、ホール、水泳プール、サッカー場、バスケコート、ロッククライミング用壁があります。教師はアメリカ人とその他外国人です。授業料はWEBサイトに載ってますが、年間1万ドル程度です。
CurriculumIn order to best serve the academic needs of Vietnamese and international students planning to study at high schools, colleges and universities in the United States, The American School of Vietnam provides a demanding American curriculum, in keeping with courses recognized by the College Board and taught at most American public and private high schools.
The college-preparatory course offerings and curriculum at The American School of Vietnam are taught with an international and global perspective, increasing awareness of a student’s global responsibilities but recognizing, articulating and celebrating the values inherent in their own culture.
Graduation requirements at The American School of Vietnam exceed the minimum number of credits found in most American high schools. They include four years of Mathematics, English Composition and Literature, Science, and Social Studies, as well as courses in Foreign Language, Creative and Performing Arts, Information Technology, Physical Education, Vietnamese Language and Culture, supplemented with English Language Skills Development classes.
Academically prepared students in the 11th and 12th grades, recommended by their teachers and guidance counselor, may take the rigorous, challenging and research-based Advanced Placement (AP) courses offered in various subject areas, all taught with a multicultural, international and global perspective. By successfully completing an AP course and the AP exam for that course, students may earn university credit. Upon graduation from The American School of Vietnam, students completing a minimum of 5-6 requisite AP courses and passing the AP examination will be awarded the Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID).
To implement and support this curriculum, The American School of Vietnam faculty and students utilize many of the same textbooks and learning resources as those used by students at American high school programs across the United States.
